My amazing mother! This show is dedicated to her!
Now, my love for international cuisine started as a young child growing up in Nuevo Laredo, Mexico. The Hispanic influences I was surrounded by as well as being an American gave me a very different perspective on the different flavors of life and food.
Ahora, mi amor por la cocina internacional comenzó cuando era un niño que crecío en Nuevo Laredo, México. Las influencias hispanas de las que estaba rodeado, además de ser estadounidense, me dieron una perspectiva muy diferente sobre los diferentes sabores de la vida y la comida.
I have had many experiences and adventures including my service in the United States Navy. During my time in the Navy, I was able to travel around the world from Japan to Australia cooking and sampling many culinary treats. I have always loved cooking with many different flavors and cuisines from around this world.
He tenido muchas experiencias y aventuras, incluido mi servicio en la Marina de los Estados Unidos. Durante mi tiempo en la Marina, pude viajar por todo el mundo desde Japón hasta Australia cocinando y probando muchas delicias culinarias. Now living in Peru, I am married to an amazing Peruvian woman. She has been an inspiration, challenging me to never ever give up until I have achieved all my goals and aspirations in life! So, my number one goal was to become a chef and now my dream is coming true thanks to my friend and wife "K.M."! Until now, I was never given the opportunity to attend chef school, but I am embracing it!
Ahora viviendo en Perú, estoy casado con una increíble mujer peruana. ¡Ella ha sido una inspiración, desafiándome a que nunca me rinda hasta que haya logrado todos mis objetivos y aspiraciones en la vida! ¡Entonces, mi objetivo número uno era convertirme en chef y ahora mi sueño se está haciendo realidad gracias a mi amiga y esposa "K.M."! Hasta ahora, nunca tuve la oportunidad de asistir a la escuela de chef, ¡pero lo estoy logrando!
Now, let me explain more about my show! I grew up with many different Hispanic influences with my family and I have always been called “Wero” or Gringo or Guero from this side of the family. So, this name stuck and I wanted to make a fusion of this name.
¡Ahora, déjame explicarte más sobre mi show! Crecí con muchas influencias hispanas diferentes con mi familia y siempre me han llamado "Wero" o Gringo o Guero de este lado de la familia. Entonces, este nombre se quedo en mi memoria y quería hacer una fusión de este nombre.

And it doesn't have the same meaning as gringo or gringa.

The feminine form is güera. Although güero/a typically refers to a blond person, in Mexico it can mean anyone of lighter hair, even a person with light brown hair, especially auburn hair. This is opposed to moreno, who is of dark brown or black-brown skin tones and/or Amerindian or Afro-Mexican origin.''
The word "güero" ultimately originates from the Spanish word huero (empty) from the phrase huevo huero (empty egg that was lost during incubation). Now, these experiences have brought me to a new adventure – "THEWERITOSHOW" which is also being aired here in Lima Peru through TigoTv a Peruvian cable channel.
In, my opinion, I believe that every small business and restaurant should be given the opportunity to have a voice! I believe in bringing a voice to small businesses that share a common goal. My hope for this show is to help us “fuse” together and celebrate our passion for food and community.

With all my travels and adventures, my greatest realization is that color doesn’t matter! No matter if you’re purple, blue, or green! The only thing that matters in this life is the creation of excellence! Either we strive to be the best or not! It’s our choice nobody can do it for us! Ultimately, we need to make it happen for ourselves to help others!
